This farm consists of a full section plus a 200-acre tract that corners it to the northwest, both of which been fallow for many years. The terrain is nearly level with mostly clay loam and silty clay loam soil on the section and clay soil on the 200 acres.
There are 4 or more older wells, 2 of which have 8' turbine pumps, that are likely 400' to 500' deep. A deep (1,000') well was drilled in 2001 and cased with 16" steel casing but was never used because of the termination of the farming operation. The driller reported that there was an abundance of water in this well. There are three center-pivot sprinkler irrigation systems in operation on the section that joins this farm on its east side.
The section is fenced and cross fenced except for the west side of the southwest quarter. The 200 acres in fenced on two sides. There are several old concrete ditches and some underground line including a pivot point for a sprinkler that was on the southwest quarter. The property is one miles east of Hwy 17 on an all weather county road.
The apparent abundance of irrigation water, good level soils and long growing season make this farm well suited for a wide range of crops including alfalfa, grains, cotton and specialty crops such as trees or melons.
