A HISTORY

Ben G. Scott graduated from Texas Tech University in 1965 and obtained a real estate license in the Spring of 1966. Ben was first licensed with Gibson Real Estate & Insurance in Hereford, Texas and obtained his Broker's license in June of 1967 and is currently a Broker in Texas and Oklahoma.

Ben worked with Gibson Real Estate and continued farming in the Dimmitt area for many years and opened Scott Land Company in 1980.

Ben's daughter, Krystal M. Nelson, obtained her license in 1997 and is now a Broker in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado with Scott Land Company, LLC.

Scott Land Company, LLC also has four additional sales agents: Gerald M. Smith of Silverton, Texas (Associate Broker-Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado), Shawn Gillispie of Dumas, Texas (Texas Agent), Robert D. Nelson of Dimmitt, Texas (Texas Agent) and Craig N. Cooper of Gruver, Texas (Texas Agent).

Scott Land Company's emphasis is on agriculture-related properties, i.e. ranches, farms, dairies, feedyards, and grain elevators and has expanded into the residential and recreation markets. We have handled the sale of a number of ranches both large and small in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Colorado and many farms, mainly in the panhandle area of Texas over the past 40+ years.
